The Novo Nordisk Obesity Prize recognizes and rewards innovative projects that contribute to a better understanding, prevention, treatment, or long-term multidisciplinary approach to obesity.
The prize supports projects that deliver measurable improvements for people living with obesity, for healthcare systems, and/or for society through scientific research, (multidisciplinary) projects, health initiatives, or education. The prize is awarded every two years, has a value of €12,500, and is intended to support the further development and lasting impact of the winning project.
On World Obesity Day 2026, registrations will open for the very first edition of the Novo Nordisk Obesity Prize. Projects can be submitted until 31 October 2026. The winner and the winning project will be announced in 2027.
